This is a look-development shot that I did for my portfolio during my certificate course on VFX after my graduation.
At the time of making this there was a lot of hype going on about the incoming video game ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ so I wanted to create something realistic but closer to cyberpunk theme.
My first step was making it look like it was a night shot all the light in the image as it was a day shot. So. I started by de saturating some colors as there is less light in night and darkened all the areas in the image that looked lit by the sunlight.
Then another challenge was to make it look like a moving shot so i added fog, lights and other elements that might make it feel like a moving shot.
After incorporating all the little details the next challenge was to create reflections.
Also created a fake depth pass for use of depth in the shot.
Various other techniques were used like color grading, rotoscopy, projection, etc.
